OP Lab opened its very first co-working space to the city of Oulu on Monday 28th of August 2017.

The baseline when it comes to starting the project consists of two things. First of all, we wanted to find a way to locally better the lives of entrepreneurs, freelancers, small companies and organizations, who are often lacking resources and contacts. Secondly, we wanted to more intimately understand the needs of future workers including, but not limited to, those making a living out of the gig economy.

Co-work by OP Lab is a combination of comfortable, convenient spaces for all types of working and a vibrant community to support the everyday lives of our members. It has been created to address the many needs of local entrepreneurs, freelancers, and organizations. You can have a coffee, work and meet up with like-minded people in the ground floor’s Lounge, attend or organize an event at Stage upstairs or focus on your area of expertise in the quiet Labra downstairs. We also grant a 24/7 access to all premises for our members.

During the upcoming 5 months, we wish (with your help) to say that we are not just space, but a community of efficient, talented, unique individuals who are able to accomplish great things. That is why we are calling for you to join us in this mission as well – as a visitor, member, event organizer or a partner.

(Yes, coffee is free – and so is the ground floor. So come stop by to work or to have a chat – we are at your disposal every Monday to Friday from 8-16 at Hallituskatu 12!)

More information about memberships, the spaces and contact information can be found from http://cowork.op-lab.fi.

Co-work by OP Lab is an ongoing pilot project from August 2017 to January 2018. For the duration of this pilot, we will be regularly writing about the everyday life, people, events and lessons learned of our co-working space here at op-lab.fi. Stay tuned and hope to see you soon!
